Welcome to Famora. Famora is a family organization application designed to help family members organize shared tasks, groceries, calendar events, family information, and related household activities.

We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your information responsibly. This Privacy Policy describes the information processed through Famora, why that information is needed, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Famora collects information necessary to provide account authentication, family collaboration, synchronization, and application functionality.

Information Purpose
Name To identify your Famora profile and display your name within the application.
Email address Account creation, authentication, account identification, and support.
Authentication information To securely authenticate your account through Firebase Authentication.
Profile photo To display your selected profile image to you and, where applicable, family members in your shared family.
Family information To create, join, and manage family groups.
Tasks and grocery items To provide shared family organization and synchronization.
Calendar events To provide shared family scheduling functionality.
Activity information To show relevant family activity within the shared family workspace.
Status and last-seen information To indicate whether a family member is currently online or offline and to support presence-related functionality.
Language preference To remember the language selected by the user.

Account Information

Famora allows users to create an account using an email address and password. Famora also supports Google Sign-In where enabled.

When an account is created, Famora creates an associated user profile that may contain your unique account identifier, name, email address, profile photo, account creation information, family membership, role, and presence status.

We use this information to authenticate you and provide access to your Famora account and associated family data.

Family Information

Famora allows users to create a family workspace or join an existing family workspace through an invitation.

A family workspace may contain information such as the family name, family identifier, owner information, membership information, member roles, and related collaboration data.

Family information is used only to provide the family organization and collaboration functionality offered by Famora.

User Content

Famora allows you to create and manage content within your family workspace.

Tasks

Tasks you create may be stored and synchronized with your family workspace so that authorized family members can access the shared task information.

Groceries

Grocery items and related information may be stored as part of your family's shared organization data.

Calendar Events

Calendar events that you create in Famora may be stored and synchronized with your family workspace.

Activity

Famora may record relevant family activity, such as actions performed within the shared workspace, so family members can understand recent activity.

Authentication

Famora uses Firebase Authentication to provide account registration, sign-in, Google authentication where enabled, session management, and sign-out.

Famora does not intentionally store your plain-text account password in the Famora application database. Authentication is handled by the authentication service used by Famora.

Account security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and Google account secure and for notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

Firebase Services

Famora uses Google Firebase services to provide authentication, cloud database functionality, synchronization, and related application infrastructure.

Famora uses Firebase Authentication for user authentication and Cloud Firestore for storing and synchronizing application data.

Firebase may process information according to its own privacy and security practices. Users should also review Google's applicable privacy information for Firebase services.

How We Use Information

Famora uses collected information for the following purposes:

Information Sharing

Famora does not sell your personal information.

Famora may provide information to infrastructure and service providers when necessary to operate the application. For example, Firebase services are used for authentication and cloud data storage.

Information may also become visible to members of the family workspace when you intentionally place information into shared family functionality.

We do not use your family data for advertising

Famora is designed as a family organization application and does not intentionally sell family workspace information to advertisers.

Family Sharing

Famora is specifically designed around shared family workspaces. Information that you intentionally add to a family workspace may be accessible to authorized members of that family workspace.

Depending on the feature, family members may be able to see information such as your name, profile photo, membership role, online status, tasks, events, grocery information, and relevant family activity.

You should therefore avoid adding highly confidential or unnecessary sensitive information to shared family content.

Storage & Security

Famora uses cloud infrastructure provided through Firebase for account and application data.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Famora also uses local browser or application storage for certain preferences and performance-related information, such as language preferences and locally available profile information.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Therefore, while we work to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain account and family information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Famora service, maintain the user's account, support family collaboration, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

When an account deletion request is completed, information associated with the account will be deleted from active Famora systems, subject to any limited retention that may be required by law, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate technical requirements.

Data that has been permanently deleted may not be recoverable.

Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Famora account.

If you no longer want to use Famora, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

What happens when you request deletion?

We will process the request and delete the personal information associated with your Famora account, subject to applicable legal or legitimate retention requirements.

Account-related information may include your account profile, authentication identity, family membership association, and other information directly associated with your account.

How to request deletion

Send an account deletion request using the contact method below. Include the email address associated with your Famora account so that we can identify the correct account.

Request Account Deletion

Please do not send your password or other authentication secrets in an email.

Important

Account deletion is different from signing out. Signing out only ends the current session. A deletion request is intended to permanently remove the account and associated data as described in this policy.

You have choices regarding the information associated with your Famora account.

  • You can create an account using the available registration options.
  • You can sign out of your account.
  • You can update available profile information through supported application features.
  • You can choose whether to create or join a family workspace.
  • You can choose what information you add to shared family areas.
  • You can request account and associated data deletion.
  • You can contact us regarding privacy questions or concerns.

Children's Privacy

Famora is intended to be used as a family organization service. We do not knowingly request unnecessary personal information from children.

Parents and guardians should supervise the use of family collaboration applications by children and should ensure that any information shared through Famora is appropriate.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Famora inappropriately, please contact us so that we can review the request and take appropriate action.

International Processing

Famora uses cloud infrastructure and third-party service providers that may process information in countries other than the country in which you live.

By using Famora, you understand that information may be processed through the infrastructure used to provide Firebase and related services.

We take reasonable steps intended to protect information regardless of where it is processed.

Google Sign-In

Where Google Sign-In is used, authentication is performed through Google's authentication services. Famora receives the account information made available through the authentication process, such as the user's name, email address, profile image, and authentication identifier where provided.
